Moxibustion Practitioner in Sydney

During your consultation with David, he will determine whether it will be helpful to combine moxibustion with your Acupuncture treatment.

At David Lee Acupuncture, we practise Acupuncture in its traditional and complete form, combining needles with moxibustion to enhance your healing and promote energy flow.

In fact, the Chinese word for acupuncture “zhen-jiu” “針灸” means the treatment of needle combined with moxibustion.

We fitted out our clinic with specialise equipment to enable us to use this ancient treatment in its intended form.

When the herb, or Moxa, is applied, it is set alight and placed near the energy point requiring attention.

You will feel a warm and soothing sensation, as the treatment works to aid in promoting circulation and reducing muscle tension.

Moxibustion treatments to encourage natural healing

Moxibustion aims to treat imbalances and blockages in the flow of energy within the body that may lead to mental and physical health problems.

It is used to treat:

  • Headaches

  • Arthritis
  • Sore and Stiff Muscles
  • Tendonitis
  • Ulcers
  • Fatigue
  • Infertility
  • Gynaecological issues
  • Digestive problems
  • And More

If you are looking for a safe and natural way to relieve pain and improve your health, moxibustion might be an option for you.

What is Moxibustion?

Moxibustion, also known as Moxa, (灸), is a treatment used in Traditional Chinese Medicine in which a herbal ball or or cigar-shaped stick made from the dried leaves of a mugwort plant, called a Moxa.

The Moxa is generally burned along the body’s meridians to help improve the flow of “Qi”, the body’s life force energy.

Moxibustion is an effective treatment for a variety of conditions, including injuries and arthritic pain, digestive issues, and gynecologic issues.

It enhances the therapeutic effects of acupuncture and is often used in conjunction with other Traditional Chinese Medicine and Conventional Medicine treatments.

At our clinic, we practice two types of moxibustion, depending on the individual being treated.

We use manual, hand-held moxa placed on top of the needle, a few centimeters away from the skin.

Depending on your symptoms and the blockages within your body, Dr Lee may recommend other treatments alongside moxibustion to bring you back to balance.

Pain Relief and Wellbeing the Natural Way

At David Lee Acupuncture, we provide a holistic approach to treatment to help our clients find balance in their body and reduce pain and discomfort.

To get the best outcomes for our client, we might utilise a combination of needle, moxa, cupping, and TDP lamp in a single session, depending on the needs and symptoms of the body.

We also offer Electro Acupuncture as an alternative to moxibustion, which utilises electro current and the resonance effects of frequencies on tissues and conditions to create beneficial changes to symptoms and overall health.
